Loader.to not working? What usually goes wrong

Loader.to is online: our server reached it on about 99% of checks since October 13, 2026. When it fails for you it is rarely an outage. The usual causes are a long or 4K video that ends in a "cannot be converted" error, a playlist that is recognised but never downloads, or an ad redirect that hijacks the download click.

Published October 17, 2026. Facts are dated and sourced below; individual user reviews are quoted as individual accounts, not as verified findings.

What Loader.to offers

Its own home page lists MP3, M4A, WEBM, AAC, FLAC, OPUS, OGG and WAV audio, MP4 from 144p up to 4K, a playlist downloader, and separate pages for SoundCloud and TikTok. It is free and supported by advertising.

A format list that long is worth reading carefully. YouTube serves standard music videos as Opus or AAC at roughly 128 to 160 kbps, so FLAC or WAV from Loader.to is the same audio in a bigger container, not a lossless copy of the original recording.

Problems users and reviewers report

A review updated on February 28, 2026 by Anvsoft, which sells the competing Any Video Converter app, reports three repeatable failures: files requested in 4K arrived as 1080p or 1440p, a three-hour 4K video stopped with a "cannot be converted" message that pointed to a separate app, and playlists and channels were detected but did not download in the web version. The same review says two clicks on the download button opened gambling and bitcoin sites, while the downloaded files themselves were clean. Treat it as a competitor's test, but the pattern matches what users describe.

None of that is the site being down. It is the cost of an ad-funded converter: heavy jobs are pushed toward an app, and the ads around the button are what most "Loader.to virus" searches are really about.

Quick checks

  • Open the video on YouTube itself. Private, age restricted, region restricted or removed videos fail on every converter.
  • If a long or 4K video fails, try the same video at 1080p or as audio only. Long, high-resolution jobs are where Loader.to gives up first.
  • If the download button opens a new tab, close it and return to the original tab. Never allow notifications or install anything the page offers.
  • For a whole playlist, expect the web version to struggle; convert a few videos at a time or use a tool built for playlists.

Common questions

Is Loader.to down right now?

Our live check above shows whether the site answers from our server, updated every 10 minutes. Since October 13, 2026 it has answered about 99% of the time, so most failures are about the video or the job, not an outage.

Is Loader.to safe?

The downloaded files have tested clean in reviews; the risk is the advertising around them, which can open gambling, crypto or fake software pages. Use an ad blocker, ignore pop-ups and never allow notifications.

Why does Loader.to say a video cannot be converted?

Reviewers see it most on very long or 4K videos. Try a lower resolution or audio only, and check that the video plays on YouTube without signing in.

What does AudioFetcher do differently?

No ads, so nothing intercepts the download. Free single videos up to 60 minutes as MP3, M4A, Opus or FLAC, and MP4 up to 1080p; a $5 Supporter Pass covers 12-hour audio and full playlists. It also adds chapters, SponsorBlock removal, tags, cover art and lyrics.
