YouTube to MP3 at 320 kbps

AudioFetcher can encode supported videos as 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps MP3. The highest setting produces a larger file, but the source audio still determines the detail you can hear.

No false upscaling claimOutput cannot exceed source detail.

Which MP3 bitrate should you choose?

Higher bitrates keep more information during MP3 encoding and create larger downloads. Estimated sizes vary by duration and metadata.

Encoding a low-quality source at 320 kbps does not recreate missing audio detail. It only controls the MP3 output bitrate.

320 kbps questions

Is 320 kbps always better?

It preserves more information during MP3 encoding, but the audible difference depends on the source, listening equipment, and listener. It also creates the largest file.

Why can a 320 kbps MP3 be larger than expected?

File size grows with duration and bitrate. Artwork and metadata add a small amount, while the audio stream accounts for almost all of the file.

Does AudioFetcher download native 320 kbps audio from YouTube?

AudioFetcher resolves the available source audio and encodes the final MP3 at your selected bitrate. The setting describes the MP3 output, not the original YouTube stream.
