Conversion help
Fix a YouTube to MP3 conversion
Start with the exact error shown in AudioFetcher. Most issues fall into four groups: the video is unavailable to the server, source delivery stopped early, encoding failed, or the browser lost the request.
Use the error message to choose a fix
- 1Video unavailable or could not resolve
Confirm the video is public and playable without age, member, account, or regional access. Remove unrelated tracking parameters and try the clean watch URL.
- 2Download stopped early
Retry once. A media URL can expire or a source server can interrupt a ranged download. AudioFetcher resolves a fresh source when the job is retried.
- 3Encoding failed
Retry once at a lower bitrate. If it repeats, send the exact video URL and error because the source container may need a specific decoder path.
- 4You appear offline or request failed
Check the connection, disable an aggressive blocker for AudioFetcher, and refresh. A harmless late polling request can also appear after a job has already completed.
- 5Suspiciously small or incomplete MP3
Do not keep the file. Retry the conversion so AudioFetcher can verify a fresh source and compare the completed download against the expected media size.
What to include in a useful report
A report with only "did not work" cannot identify the failure. Include the details below and the issue can usually be reproduced quickly.
- 1The exact YouTube URL
Do not send only the video title. Include the complete URL you pasted.
- 2The visible error
Copy the exact error text or attach a screenshot of the failed conversion card.
- 3The stage and percentage
Say whether the job was resolving, downloading, or encoding and where progress stopped.
- 4Your browser and device
Include Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or another browser, plus desktop or mobile.
Never include passwords, cookies, payment card details, or private account credentials in a support report.
Common questions
Why does a video work for one person but fail for another?
YouTube can return different media formats, restrictions, and delivery routes based on account state, region, IP address, and timing. A fresh retry may resolve a different usable source.
Does fast internet guarantee a fast conversion?
No. Your browser is waiting on the AudioFetcher server, the source delivery path, and the encoder. Your local connection matters mainly when downloading the completed MP3.
How long should I wait?
Short videos usually move quickly. Long videos can spend much longer downloading and encoding. If there is no progress for an unusually long time and no error appears, refresh and retry once.
