YouTube to MP3 with chapters

Keep a long video's chapters when you convert it. AudioFetcher can embed the chapter markers inside one MP3, or split the audio into numbered tracks with one file per chapter, and neither option re-encodes the audio a second time.

Embed markersChapter names and timestamps stay in the file.
Split to tracksOne numbered file per chapter, no extra encode.
Your own markersPaste timestamps to define chapters yourself.

How chapter conversion works

YouTube chapters come from the timestamps a creator puts in the description. AudioFetcher reads them with the video metadata and applies whichever option you enable under Prepare files.

  1. 1
    Paste the video link

Choose MP3, M4A, Opus or MP4. FLAC does not carry compatible chapter markers, so use Split chapters for FLAC.

  2. 2
    Open Prepare files

Tick Embed chapters to keep markers inside the file, or Split chapters to get numbered audio files.

  3. 3
    Optional: add your own markers

Enable My chapter markers and paste one timestamp and title per line, for example 00:00 Intro. Up to 50 markers, MM:SS or HH:MM:SS, in order. This replaces the source chapters and works for a single MP3 or MP4.

  4. 4
    Fetch and download

Embedded chapters arrive as one file. Split chapters arrive as a temporary ZIP of numbered tracks, so save it before it expires.

Free conversions cover single videos up to 60 minutes. Pro extends audio to 12 hours per video, adds playlists, and includes a Spoken Audio With Chapters preset for Library Packs. Player support for embedded chapters varies: VLC, foobar2000, Apple Podcasts style players and most audiobook apps show them, many car stereos do not. Use only videos you own or have permission to download.

Questions

Why does the video show no chapters?

The creator has not added timestamps to the description, or the timestamps do not start at 00:00, which YouTube requires. You can still add your own markers with My chapter markers.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Split chapters cuts the already encoded audio at the chapter boundaries. There is no second lossy encode.

Can I split a DJ mix or album upload into songs?

Yes, if the upload has chapters or you paste the tracklist timestamps yourself. Each chapter becomes a numbered file such as 001 - Track title.

Can I combine chapters with SponsorBlock?

Embedded and split chapters work with SponsorBlock. Custom markers do not, because removing segments would shift your timestamps, so turn SponsorBlock off when you use your own markers.
