No ads, pop-ups, redirects or notification prompts

Many free YouTube converters pay for themselves with pop-unders, redirects to other sites, fake "Download" buttons and requests to "Allow notifications". AudioFetcher has none of those. You paste a YouTube link, pick a format, and the Download button downloads your file. It does not open new tabs or windows, does not ask for notification permission, and does not ask you to install an app, an extension or a "download manager".

The only extra step is a short Cloudflare Turnstile security check before free conversions. It runs on the page itself, and it exists to stop bots from using up the free capacity that everyone shares.

What the homepage loads (checked October 21, 2026)

These are all the scripts the converter page loads. Nothing comes from an ad network, a social-media pixel or a push-notification service.

Video thumbnails come from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com). To check for yourself, open your browser's developer tools on the homepage, switch to the Network tab and reload, or view the page source.

Security headers you can check

Every page is served over HTTPS only. The site sends:

  • HTTPS redirect and HSTS: plain http:// requests get a permanent redirect to https://, and Strict-Transport-Security tells browsers to use HTTPS for a year.
  • Content-Security-Policy: scripts may only come from audiofetcher.com, Cloudflare Turnstile and Cloudflare Web Analytics; plugins are blocked and forms can only submit to the site itself.
  • Clickjacking protection: X-Frame-Options DENY and frame-ancestors 'none', so no other site can embed AudioFetcher in a hidden frame.
  • X-Content-Type-Options nosniff and a strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy.
  • Permissions-Policy: camera, location and payment features are switched off; the microphone is allowed only for the site's own voice recorder tool.

Run curl -I https://audiofetcher.com/ to see the headers, or use the scanners below. On October 21, 2026, Mozilla Observatory graded the site B (75/100). The two deductions are for allowing inline scripts in the security policy and for loading Cloudflare's analytics script without a subresource-integrity hash; both are honest trade-offs, not vulnerabilities.

What happens to your files and data

  • What the server receives: the YouTube link and the options you chose. It fetches that one video from YouTube and converts it.
  • Files are temporary: a result that is never downloaded is deleted within 10 minutes; once a download starts, it stays for at most 5 more minutes so an interrupted transfer can resume. Failed job records without files are removed within 7 days.
  • Local tools stay local: the audio tools under /tools/ process files inside your browser and never upload them.
  • One cookie: free visitors get a random, HttpOnly guest ID that enforces the free limits. It is not shared with advertisers.
  • No data sales: AudioFetcher does not sell user data or build advertising profiles.

The full details, including how long diagnostics are kept, are in the privacy policy.

How AudioFetcher is paid for

Without ads, the bills (servers and network capacity) are paid by visitors who choose to support the site:

  • Supporter Pass: $5 one time for 30 days, no subscription and no automatic renewal. It unlocks longer videos (audio up to 12 hours, MP4 up to 3 hours), full playlists and priority processing.
  • Day Pass: $2 for 24 hours of the same access, for one long video.
  • Gift passes and tips through Buy Me a Coffee.

Payments go through Buy Me a Coffee's checkout, so AudioFetcher never receives card numbers. Everything else, including MP3 at 320 kbps and 50 MP4 videos a day, is free with no account.

Is the downloaded file safe?

Yes. The files are produced on AudioFetcher's server by FFmpeg from YouTube's own audio and video streams, and they are ordinary media files: .mp3, .m4a, .opus, .flac or .mp4. Options that produce several files (split chapters, lyrics, playlists) arrive as a .zip containing only audio, text and image files.

A media file cannot run code on its own. If any converter site ever hands you an .exe, .apk, .dmg or .scr file, or tells you to install something to "unlock" a download, do not open it.

Check it yourself

Do not take this page's word for it. These independent services show their own results for audiofetcher.com:

AudioFetcher also publishes open data: the code and results of its YouTube converter status checker are public on GitHub, and the same checks power the live converter status page.

Red flags on any YouTube converter

  • It asks you to "Allow notifications" before or after a download.
  • Clicking anywhere opens a new tab, or the Download button leads to another site.
  • It warns that your phone or computer is infected and offers a fix.
  • It requires an app, an extension or a desktop program for a simple MP3.
  • The file you get is not an audio or video file.

Your browser's pop-up blocker and an up-to-date browser catch most of this, but the safest choice is a site that does none of it.

Copyright: what you may convert

Safe also means using the tool responsibly. Convert only videos you own or have permission to download, for example your own uploads, Creative Commons material, or content whose creator allows downloads. Rules differ between countries, and YouTube's own terms apply to its videos. AudioFetcher does not host a music library, offers no search or catalogue of songs, and deletes every converted file automatically. Rights holders can send notices through the copyright and abuse page.

Questions about AudioFetcher's safety

Is AudioFetcher a virus or malware?

No. AudioFetcher is a website, not a program you install, and it only delivers ordinary media files: MP3, M4A, Opus, FLAC or MP4, plus ZIP files for multi-file results. It never asks you to download an .exe, an app or a browser extension to get a file. You can check the domain on VirusTotal, Google Safe Browsing and urlscan.io.

Does AudioFetcher have ads?

No. There are no ad networks, pop-ups, pop-unders, redirects or fake download buttons. The site's Content-Security-Policy only lets scripts load from audiofetcher.com and two Cloudflare services, so ad scripts could not run even if someone tried to add them.

Is it safe to use AudioFetcher on iPhone or Android?

Yes. It runs in Safari, Chrome or any modern browser with no app to install. Downloads land in the Files app on iPhone or the Download folder on Android, and they are plain audio or video files.

Does AudioFetcher keep my files or history?

Converted files are temporary: one that is never downloaded is deleted within 10 minutes, and once a download starts the file stays for at most 5 more minutes so an interrupted transfer can resume. AudioFetcher does not sell data or build advertising profiles. Details are in the privacy policy.

Why is there a security check before converting?

Free conversions start with Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused check that stops bots from using up the free capacity everyone shares. It is not an ad and does not ask you to click on anything outside the page.

Who runs AudioFetcher?

AudioFetcher is made by Yazan, an independent developer. It is paid for by optional Supporter Passes and tips, not by ads. You can reach him at help@audiofetcher.com or on the AudioFetcher Discord.
